Thumbs up Skoda Radio Trim for aftermarket radios no rattle!

I was at the dealers today and they mentioned that VAG do the replacement trim section if you want to swap the Skoda radio for an aftermarket std din.

The best bit it is it clips in. Its not a surround (that rattles on mine as it works 1mm loose due to the cage not keeping it tight and spoils my Skoda build quality)

Part no 6y0857231b41 price £6.26 + V.A.T

so it is cheaper than Halfords at about £12

Mine rattles like a snake and drives me nuts. It's just a light weight peice of rubbish plastic that doesnt seem to clip in anywhere.

My wife's Fabia has the Skoda trim. It's a perfect match for the dashboard, good quality solid plastic and it doesn't rattle.

Less than a third of the price of a Halfords jobby as well.

Cheers

My Auto leads facia rattled, a small bit of engineering with some Dum Dum sorted that out.

I bought and fitted one yesterday...

£2.60 inc vat from Bickertons Skoda in Sheffield

No rattles and it fits a lot better!

Expect to see loads of Autoleads facia adapters on eBay soon! (where mine's going lol).

Autoleads .... bonk :)

Got my Alpine fitted, cant get the autoleads facia adapter on, well it slips over the head unit ok but then I can't get the clips on the HU Surround to engage at all.

Will the skoda surround be better folks???? or have I done something wrong?

Cheers

Tony

Skoda plate will fit better, be a perfect match for your dash plastic and will cost less than a fiver.

Cheers
