| Std radio in 06 VRs : symphony? what can it do & upgrading? Bit of an open question, but thought to ask. What can the std radio do in terms of power and functionality? i see you can buy a changer for it, how easy are these to come by and fit? are the wires already there and you just need the box? can you have any aux input to it? do you need any special wires? how easy is it to access the rear of the unit? can you get ipod control or DAB for it? does it have pre-outs for amps? are there any 'upgraded' units available, ie optional extra stereo upgrade with more features? would a shop bought double din unit fit? is the dash 'curved'? and are there any vw/audi/skoda double din units that are 'factory' but have touchscreen with dvd/cd/mp3/etc ability? sorry for all the questions, but a simple yes/no will suffice! ![]() ta |

| Re: Std radio in 06 VRs : symphony? what can it do & upgrading? You'll find a lot more detail by doing a search, but in answer to some of your questions, yes you can get a changer. There are various aftermarket kits that comprise a 6 disc changer (Alpine, Kenwood etc.) plus an adaptor that goes into the relevant socket on the back of the unit. You can also use this socket for an Aux input, I think (again, kits available). You can get the unit out with Kenwood keys, or various household items. A double-DIN would fit if you took the tray out underneath, but you'd still need a fascia adaptor, as the Symphony is a bit taller than DIN. Anything more, you know where the search is! ![]()
