Yes or no?

Right, simple yes or no answer please! I'm just about to phone CAD and order myself a new head unit for my Mk1 Octavia. Do I need to source an Autoleads/Halfords wiring harness adaptor to install the new head unit?
I've read lots of conflicting reports about this, some say you don't, you switch the switched live and permanent live, others say if you do that the K wire will blow up your head unit or any diagnostic equipment that might get connected to your car!
So.... yay or nay?

Re: Yes or no?

alftupper - are you routing power to the aerial? Reception will be rubbish on the Octavia if not. You can get the part from Halfords - you'll find there's a switched power source on one of the leads from the back of the h/u.
