I would guess at either the car park is that full or it is as a result of accidents and people already on the track having to crawl round (or turn round

) and waiting to be given their lap back?

It looks like they are using the extra lane, in that those on track who want to do another lap can go straight through there, and not need to exit and re-enter through the normal route. There is another ticket machine just out of view.

But in earlier pics they where parked at angles to the armco

The julespenny webcam site only stores the last 1hr of images and then drops them so your linked images will be replaced by different ones later.
