Default Briskoda Trip to the Nurburgring 2006

Well i thought i'd raise this trip now that January is over and done with and everyone is over the Christmas spend.

I am going to be going to the Ring this weekend so i thought i'd place here to give anyone who might be interested in coming plenty of time to prepare for it etc.

Before you all jump on me and say that weekend the German DTM race series is at the Ring GP circuit,i know already.
Thats why i am suggesting going as it was the quietest weekend i had their last year.

The hotels nearest the circuit are all booked already from what i can make out, understandably due to all the race teams etc.

But i found a hotel 20 mins drive away which was very good last year so much so i would definately go back.
Its an ideal distance as by the time you get to the Ring your car all is warmed up nicely.

So if any of you are interested then post on here,so we can get an idea of whom and how many people are interested.

Any further questions feel free to PM me.

Hmmmmm, scratches stubbly chin. I'd love to actually. Is it just the one day you are thinking of is it a couple. It's as far to Dover for me as it is for you to the ring almost, which is a long way to go for a day's "ring action". Any more details would be welcomed.

It's not like you to worry about the distance when "ring action" is involved

Would like to go later in 2006. The $$$ is a little tight at the moment, just how shifty likes his rings, so I hear.

One thing worries me though, and thats the surface of the circuit.... I have possibly the stiffest suspension on any fabia, and it does not like rough roads, especially at speed.... I've driven the circuit on GT4 using some stiff Caterham, and it was a nightmare. I might give it a go in a tweaked Beezer, but this is the only niggle in my mind.

Dunno if it would be less miles for you shifty but they run a ferry from Rosyth now that goes to Zeebrugge then from there to Nordschleife is 220 miles, Im thinking about it just now, pending SWMBO co-operation

Yes me Alex, I am up for a ring trip. I am going over to near the ring for Easter, so will have to pay a visit. I cant do the weekend of 18th-21st though due to other people being off work.

Sad thing is though, for the easter trip the Boxster will be at home. The trusty commuter hack mondeo will once again be present, complete with 152,000 miles on the clock. I will do one lap, and only one lap. A 2.0 Auto isnt very quick and last time I cooked the brakes within the first 4 corners.
