| Briskodian | Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? Hello I'm hoping you can offer me some advice. I've just bought a 2003 Fabia, elegance model. I'm generally really happy with it, but the front seats are really uncomfortable. The back of the drivers seat especially is very curved so the lumbar area bulge is sticking into my back and causing a lot of discomfort. I spoke to the local Skoda dealership and they said it's supposed to be like that. Surely there must be a way to change it? Any suggestions? Cheers! |

| Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? If the fabia is anything like the octy elegance then the seat has adjustable lumber support. One side of the seat will have 2 knobs, the upper one adjusts the lumbar.

| Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? No lumbar support adjustment on the Fabias to the best of my knowledge, unless the Elegance has it, the vRS sure doesnt unfortunately ![]()

| Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? No lumbar adjustment on the Elegance and I know what you mean about the seats. You could try getting a "lumbar" type cushion to sit on top of the existing seat, or for a more permanent solution maybe get them retrimmed in leather and get extra padding put under it? Chris

| Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? The Audi A2 courtesy car I've got appears to have a similar level of (dis)comfort, I got used to it after a bit. Leather retrim would be the nicest (but expensive) option SWMBO won't let me ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? I found the seats and foot position uncomfortable at first and bought a seat cushion from Asda which worked quite well. I had pain in my leg which was better when I removed the foot rest for the left foot and for a few months I really thought that I'd bought the wrong car. The truth was that it was me not the car. After a getting a problem in my arm, I went to a chiropractor who sorted not only the reason for my visit to him, but a few other problems. Now I don't need the seat cushion and enjoy a really good level of driving comfort. Suggest the Asda (type) cushioned seat and backrest might help; also there is a good AA website which goes through setting up your seat which I found useful. Having been driving since 1965 I was surprised to read something I should have known - the position for stop-start driving is different to that for long journeys. I've marked the two most useful positions on the rails and side ****, which makes it easier to see where to move them and easier to set up after cleaning the interior. HTH V |

| Re: Advice re uncomfortable Fabia seats? My first Skoda was a Fabia and never had a problem with the seats once I had worked out the correct positioning of the steering wheel. That made a difference. Have you tried the reach/height adjustment?
