| clutch judder Octavia 1.9 TDI My X reg Octavia with 70k on the clock has developed a clutch judder and "clonks" when going into reverse, just had it serviced yesterday and I am told I need a new clutch etc price quoted Ł916, help!!! |

| That is way too expensive! At most Ł450 for the clutch including labour.

| Yes, way too expensive. My local dealer (Sparshatts of Fareham) fitted mine for less than that, including the Ł450 I paid for a Sachs performance clutch alone. Oh and by the way welcome Lee

| Well if it includes the flywheel im not suprised its that much. Dual mass flywheel on its own is near on Ł400 its a massive hunk o metal. And yes John it is quite common accross the VAG range. |
