| Finally got a low mileage Fabia vRS Horners of Manchester (didn't mean to swear - according to some forum members). Car as advertised was out of my price bracket - but then I saw they were giving £1,000 PartEx on any car, any condition as long as it has 3 months MOT. Bingo. Think the dealer choked when I told him it was a 12 year old Cavalier with 208,000 on the clock. Anyways, couldn't make out what he said, phone went very quiet for a few minutes and then he came back on. So, March 2004 model with 15,800 on the clock. No ESP - shame, but I really really wanted a low mileage example. Should be able to pick it up Mon or Tues, can't wait. Will run it as standard for few years and then perhaps remap it when it gets a bit 'slow' compared to the new crop of fast motors. Anyway, thanks to you guys for all the info on the Forums. One question - are the headlamp bulbs H4 or H3 ? |

| Great! With that amount of mileage, on a diesel, it's just barely been run in for you! And running-in has two camps - baby it and build up vs rag it almost from the start. Both claim that their way is best (!?) So whatever the prior owner did to it, it's been run-in for you Boy are you gonna be one happy camper! Even in standard form it's really a great car. Once you put on a Jabba Anti-roll bar + SEAT strut brace it will handle loads better, and you're happily off down the (extremely) slippery slope of modding! Bet you dont make it a few months never mind a couple of years before you get the itch to mod it Especially egged on by comments on this forum.... (Hey that would make a great new thread - let's bet on how soon before you start modding your vRS....) Congrats. Mate Bas

| Thanks for all comments, Guys. After 80 BHP cavalier for 11 years there might be a bit of a learning curve on unleashing the power on this baby when it comes. Hope I manage to keep the wheels on the ground whilst on this 'learning curve' ! To vrs.mad :- Did you 'take advantage' of the £1,000 min part ex ? |
