Default Fabia vRS - Hello and questions :-)

Just bought my wife a Fabia vRS and must say that I am VERY impressed with the car. I can't stop driving it :-)

The torque in any gear and at any revs simply propels the car forward. I've yet to be caught out by being in the wrong gear, however... A DSG gearbox would be an amazing option and certainly another unique selling point on this car.

The only concerns I have are surrounding the colour of the seats (Although I have already treated with some stain resist) would have liked the option of leather (have seen that retrims are possible) and the fact that the radio is confused as to its right and left (have others seen this?) Oh and a very minor gearshift vibration when the car is idling and in neutral.

All in all I believe the Fabia vRS to be the best value for a small performance car at the moment.. And thats before seeing the very reasonable 40mpg even when driven enthusiastically.

Good Going Skoda.

Left/right should be the right (no pun intended ) way round, if it isnt it's wired wrong.

The vibration thing - thought that could be sorted by the dealer, although I doubt it will cause problems in reality.

As for the gearing, I have been caught once or twice by dropping it a little too low in the revs in the higher gears, but then most cars don't pull < 1k rpm

Did you find the gearbox loosening up with more mileage on it?

Bought one for the wife - Thats how I started!!

The gearbox rattle may be fixed by having the modified cables fitted by your dealer - SWMBO had hers done a little while back.
