| Briskodian | Hi, advice on vrs if pos ? Hi everyone, I have skipped across from scoobynet. About to change my WRX for an Octavia vrs. I have seen one for sale at the dealer in Cardiff. It is silver ( my prefered colour ) oct 02 52 with 10,000 miles, one owner and is immaculate. They have offered it to me for £10,700 cash ( up for £11,495 ) does this sound OK ? Comes serviced with 12 months U/L mile warranty but no tax. I test drove it yesterday and was very impressed. Not as frantic as the scoob but much smoother and I am sure nearly as quick once under way. Handling OK, better than expected. Anyone any comments / advice. I am really doing it to try and save a bit of cash on the running costs, without loosing the buzz of the scoob. What mpg would I expect ? ( mostly M/way ) Sorry lots of questions ! ![]() |

| An oct 2002 octy came as standard with a 3yr 60k mile warranty from the factory, this will therefor be due to run out in oct 2005, so you dont need to pay any extra for that. The octy vRS is holding its value really well, compared to the scooby. My July01 Y reg with 45k miles on the clock is still worth more than 7.5k. Almost forgot .welcome by the way.

| Briskodian | Sounds like a good deal I don't drive very sensibly and I get about 30-32mpg when doing big mway miles (including absolutely gunning it down sliproads )... seriously, you can't go wrong ![]()

| Briskodian | Welcome ![]() I reckon you should hassle them for the Tax as well ![]() Driving sensibly, on cruise, i tend to see 400-420 miles out of a full tank, which is somewhere in the region of 35 mpg. |

| Briskodian | Thanks everyone, anyone had any experience with White Dove in Cardiff ? The sales guy was nice enough, but his knowledge of cars was terrible. He asked me if my WRX was 4WD or 2WD model, and also when asked if the vrs had traction control he did not know, even after I pointed out the de-activation button on the dash ! I think with 12 months RFL the deal could be done ! |

| Why am I not surprised that yet another Scooby owner is thinking of defecting to Skoda? Welcome, Koads. You will be in good company here. ![]()

| Koads Welcome to Briskoda Just for real cheek, Has it got Cruise or Prking sensors. If not tell the dealer you have 10500 cash + RFL + full tank of fuel, If he accepts then BITE his had off and run before he realises whats happened. Steve ( Oh ! you will find parking sensors usefull specialy coz of the high boot ) can get cruise retrofitted, from a Briskoda member .

| Briskodian | Hi and welcome, deal sounds about right (I paid 11250 for my 03 vRS with 12K 2 months ago) but try and get any extras if you can. Generally I get around 35-36 mpg although that does include a fair bit of hill driving ![]() edited for terrible spelling |
