| Hi all, new on the block. Hi Seems we may have caught the Skoda bug, as we are about to take possession of one. Must admit never thought we would be looking forward to this day coming, a new car yes !! but dare I say it a Skoda, not really. Not that we have ever even owned a new car, most have been 4 or more years old, last being a Nissan that has kept us safe for over 240000 km and has been totally reliable , and we will still keep it , as it deserves just the odd potter around. I have seen that many of you have previously owned Nissans, yet have changed to Skoda's, so what is it that drives us to that same decision ?,Is it that Skoda as in the words of one ad campaign says " finished its growing up period" literal translation. So what car have we decided upon ?? well we have been driving a company 2006 1.9td Octavia Tor estate for the last 20,000 km in just over 5months, that is to say my wife's company car, and me sharing the driving, with our black retriever occupying the kennel section at the rear. So our understanding of the Octavia's virtues have been well oiled , and so we now have decided to lease one ourselves as our personal vehicle the Nissan is really not up for the 40000 + km we do every year . Ours will be the 1.9 td Ambiente 4x4 estate, so we hope to share with you our early days getting to know this car , and dare I ask being new to the forum, some tips on the running in required. We believe this handing over day will be within this week, so we will be keeping you posted. Thank you again for your welcome, and should I say the more than helpful advise we have read on this forum that helped us decide on leasing this Skoda. Jo |
