Morning Si

Si is the man who converted me

Tips on what revs to keep below and for how long would be good. When to change the oil in the run-in (few thousand miles perhaps). Its my first new car so I havn't got a clue

Keep below 3K on the rev front for the 1K then gradually start to let rip.

Keep an eye on the oil as they really burn it for the first few K. I didn't change the oil till the 10K service and since then (7K) it's not touched a drop.

Like Andy said. Keep it below 3k rpm. Let the engine / oil warm up before giving the turbo any work. Drive sensibly and progressive. I found there's no harm in letting the turbo spin up when still under 1000 miles, as long as the engine is warm, and you "progressively" apply the gas. Just don't get the engine labouring below 1600-1700rpm. You'll find you'll get a gentle kick in the back even with only a 1/3 throttle.

Basically, I think it's good to make it work and rev freely every now and then as long as you do it in the right rev range - 1700 to 3000 for the first 1000 miles

Welcome to Briskoda, Matt. Can I be the first to recommend following the running in advice in the Owners Manual? This is reproduced in our Article Centre here.

Hey Matt, welcome pal

As already stated, for the first 1000 dont exceed 3000 revs but hit the mark regulary, try to treat the seats with teflon type protector (I used Diamondbrite Jewelultra which was good stuff).

Watch the oil, and watch the non-converts gasp in awe as you fly past em

Have fun, see you around

Its gonna be a long night (make it week) of driving everywhere.
