Default Just got Fab VRS - greatest hot hatch ever?

Hey there, i just got myself an 04 black magic skoda fabia vrs on thursday and i have to say, this is really one of the best hot hatches money can buy. Taking in all things, its rapid, good looking plus iv got £20 quid more in my pocket after a run. Compared to my old golf gti its immense. My mates 106 gti and clio williams are faster, but not by much, even in the twisties they can't lose me. I'm hoping a remap will sort this out and see them choking on my diesel smoke. Who do you guys recommend for mapping, bearing in mind cost, results and the fact im in edinburgh?? also it seems my model was 5 months prior to the xenon light facelift. is this retrofittable and are the washers required??

Hiya.

Edinburgh - look for "Star Performance" under "Site Partners" in the "Forum Jump" list box (bottom right of the page).

A remap will make it much closer to your friends cars.... 0-60 should be around 7 ish seconds..... also consider a jabba anti roll bar to help the handling extra load front tyres such as pirelli p'nero's help too

welcome to briskoda....

There wasn't a xenon facelift, they've been an option from the start iirc. I have seen some sort of xenon retrofit afair but not skoda parts and not with washers...

Hi there,

I would recommend Angel Tuning, they visit just about any area.

They re-programmed mine, and it doesnt smoke at all (or not that I can see in rear view mirror) other than if having cruised for 50miles at super low revs, then it kicks a little out initially when i first floor it. Same for all none DP filter diesel engines, as the less refined fuel soot that settles in exhaust is thicker, and needs disapating!

I have a custom air intake set-up that involves the std air box, but is better than a K&N cone unit, and this Friday will have a Milltek Cat-back exhaust on too.

the car (albeit with OEM intake set-up on) registered a genuine (not the usual bull 185bhp claims) 170bhp @ 3800rpm, & 297lb-ft @ 2500rpm. smooth as silk the torque curve, not a notch in it. 170bhp @ 3800 and still above 160bhp come 4600rpm. The difference in the custom air induction kit is immense. so much so that untuned it registered 149bhp @ 3300rpm & 311lb-ft @ 1900rpm. Proof of both is available upon request. If you want some advice on all the right TLC additives to use in engine fuel and coolant, PM me or reply to this. I more than happy to let you know.

I am also in Cliosport.net club If you want proof my tuned fabia does not smoke, put this into address bar. Its a video clip of a cliosport meet, and shortly after start you see me come past. the start speed was 70mph, you see a little bit of a straight piece on way up the hill to top of penines (wood head pass) at the end of this piece the clip slows to show me coming past. at the start of the short straight bit of the dual carrigeway up hill bit, being 4-6car lengths back, they camera car waves me past. 70mph start speed in 5th (32mph/1000rpm) I gave it 1/2 to 2/3 throttle. just after I get round the start of the left hander up the steeper bit of hill, im doing the ton, and then back off. Note the screaming 1.6 16v engine trying to catch up to a coasting VRS.

I also on that meet managed to inch away from a 182 trophy in a 0-70 race after a car turned off.
