hello fellow skoda people.
i have recently bought a 51 plate octavia vrs.
the car is great but i have a few niggly problems
1. front seats wearing, i have a 12 month warranty but doubt this will cover the repair can anybody recommend a repairer in manchester area?
2.There is a persistant problem with the brakes including grinding and squeaking noise and rear breaks stuck on in morning. I have had the car back to lightcliffe skoda halifax but their remedial work hasnt made any difference.
3. When you depress the clutch without being in gear it makes a light knocking sound.

thanks meady.

Re: new member

1. might be a job you have to get sorted yourself, but ask the dealer about it.
2. mine mooo, bloody things, but im putting this down to new discs and pads for the short term. If your not happy, this is what your warranty is for, make sure they sort it. Has it had new pads or discs ????????
3. Is it a click or a knock, mine clicked when i had mine. I just put WD40 on the pivot point of the pedal and weeheey, no a click since.

4. Welcome to Briskoda.

2) Do they "moo" when you're reversing? If, not then I'd suspect that it's a surface corrosion issue, and there's not a lot that anyone can do.

Re: new member

I knew there was something I'd meant to say somewhere yesterday!

I rarely to never drive at weekends, but did wash the car on Saturday and yesterday, when I went to go to work, I released the handbrake level, and, when I tried to move off, there was a settling of the back of the car, followed by a "clonk"; nothing wrong, just the pads lightly rusted to the discs. I also occasionally get grinding noises when the discs (visible through 5-spoke alloys) are surface rusty.

Re: new member

Just sounds like a normal vRS experience to me. Nothing to worry about.

Regarding the seats, there is a good company in Halifax that re-trim.
