| Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year I like the honda............. the vRS is a good car, but don't expect skoda to honour the warranty, even if you don't modify it!

the Fiesta looks nice, but is far too silver. Honda is Japanese for fridge. Buy a Fabia vRS, don't mess about with it, just enjoy it for what it is. Reasonable performance, decent economy, and well built, all at a favourable price. This isn't an advert btw. I have yet to find a comparable car. Small sporty diesel hatch... Polo too expensive. Ibiza feels too fragile and cheap, Ermm, that's it.

| Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year well worth considering, as the old styley goes out in May, and the new styley comes in... I want to get shopping around May, there's gonna be some bargins to be had I'm sure ![]() Thinking... I can then upgrade from my wonderful and fabialous 1.4 16v, to the vrs, or I'm considering sticking with the petrol, and might ask banks to let me go for the new 1.6 16v, sounds tempting with the 6 speed tiptronic. | Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year I believe there has been a couple of 55 plate ones suffering too. There has been a fix put out to the Dealers, it hasn't completely cured it but it's less obvious. skoda are now calling it a phenonemen because of strict emissions laws so basically washing their hands of it in my opinion. See the email i received the other day in the thread that details the fix in the fabia section, I believe it's been made into a sticky now I have an 06 vrs and had the fix recentely. It has improved but was never that bad. I love my car but just not Skoda UK's attitude

| Briskodian | Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year Wow, i really didnt relise it was that big a problem! and more so that it has still not been properly sorted. It jus seems madness!!! definatly having second thoughts as am wanting a car that will be no more than a yr old. And i know a stutter like that would just annoy the hell out of me. |

| Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year I think from reading the stutter poll thread people are experiencing different levels of annoyance or their tolerance of it is different to others. As i said, mine was never that bad. Maybe you should have a test drive of one with a fixed stutter before you decide not to get one, or indeed before you get one. Not all people have suffered it. It would never cause me to sell the car because of it, it's just a small niggle in the grand scheme of an otherwise fantastic car to me. I just think it's fair that you should know if you are going to be shelling out your cash. You can bet that skoda wont be telling people who order them.

| Re: Thinking of getting a Vrs in the next year Hi Alex Very nice Fiesta there! I have a rather old Vrs now 03 plate and I have to say that it great. However don’t except it to handle as well as the Fiesta because it wont. I know this because I have a 10 yr old Fiesta as a second car. A rear ARB and new strings and shocks do go a long way to sort the handling out though. Leather upgrade is a great but expensive mod for the interior. Then there is a brake upgrade, air intake upgrade and then a remap for the performance side of things. However any performance mod will invalidate your warranty. If you want a reliable, fun and "warm" hatch then for the price there is nothing that can touch it and this is still the case. Its been mentioned already, the Polo is just too expensive, the Ibiza can handle better but the interior is naff, and the Grande Punto is a Fiat. Enough said (However they seem to be an improvement over the old model) Anyhow here is a pic of my Fiesta. I hope I have not put you off; the Fabia is a great car with ticks nearly all the boxes. Just take one for a long test drive and then decide All the best anyway. Tony Last edited by tonystop; 09-04-2008 at 17:38. |
