Re: 17inch solids for superb

Could anyone confirm if these will fit a '57 Passat (B6) estate? I think they should, but I'd just like a definite confirm before I make my mind up.

Thanks.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

If the PCD is 112mm then they'll fit. I'm fairly sure all Superbs are that fitment.

It might be worth getting confirmaton on the offset as well the ET number that will be stamped or embossed into the wheel somewhere.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

They are PCD 112 but it's the ET that's confusing.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

I'll leave it then - the Catalunyas that are on it at the moment are ET45 and the Monte Carlo 'Sport' Wheels are ET47, so it sounds like quite a bit of a difference.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

All you need are spacers and it'll be fine, well maybe longer bolts but it's common place to change to wheels with different offsets.

I'm going to get my Catalunyas referbed after christmas but am thinking of upgrading to 17s I like the Audi A4 5 spokes but think these would look good on the B6 Passat. They would have to be mint for me as I would have to get them sorted first.

I want the right thing really - a set of 5 VW 17" Monte Carlo's ideally together with the driver gear springs, but a set of Solids would look great too I reckon.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

Monte Carlos pop up on e-bay from time to time but aren't cheap, usually £350 + and in need of refurbs and tyres needing replacement. I'm looking at a single Monte Carlo for my wifes Passat TDI Sport as it may be easier than getting one kerbed wheel fixed.

I've always had a soft spot for the solids and would look nice on the passat but I've never seen one with this combination anyone fancy a photoshop effort?

I don't know how much the solids normally go for, but i have only ever paid £200 - £250 for mint OE wheels with very good tyres before.

I would expect any issues. You're effectively running a 10mm spacer, if the OEM wheels are a 47. These will just sit out a little further in the arch, so should look better too. I'd expect you to be able to use your existing wheel bolts too.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

I know to my cost that wheels of that size are tricky to fit on to later VAGs but they'd look good and fit straight on earlier Passats 97-05.

Re: 17inch solids for superb

I could be interested but I would want to refurb' them. I don't want to insult you with a very low offer, but if you don't have any luck shifting them and drop the price then let me know.
