| The thing that's really confusing me, having read the FAQ, is Why? Why bother to market a 150bhp engine, when at no cost to the company (in fact probably lower cost as only one inventry of ECUs to stock) they could have the whole range with 180bhp (and hence wipe the floor with pretty much everything else on the market at this price range)?? Doesn't make sense to me. |

| Insurance premium for the customer VAG not allowing them to offer it (branding etc) Fear of retaliation? Maybe they don't want a 180BHP baseline for a family hatch! |

| Insurance Group 16 would put a lot of potential customers off. Group 13 is pretty high as it is, especially when the 2.0 is in Group 9.

| Well I bought the 150bhp model for 3 reasons, 1) Insurance (only 26 with 1 years no claims at the time) 2) Actual cost of purchase 3) I wouldn't even trust anyone not to steal a vRS around here! It doesn't mean it's gonna stay at 150bhp though! ![]()

| I can recommend putting a 1.4 16V badge on the back to make your car even less attractive to car thieves. ![]()

| Alternatively, an even easier option is to just remove the badge and leave everyone guessing - that's what I've done.

| How easy are the badges to remove? Also has anyone tried to fit a VW 1.8T badge - I always liked the look of that. |

When it's off, clean any excess glue with a bit of T-cut and give it a spot of wax polish - unless you are fitting the VW badge. Are you allowed to deface a Skoda with a VW badge? ![]()
