| I searched but couldn't find the info that i want so here it goes : As far as I understand the limit of performance tuning the vrs tdi in actually the DPF. Now, what can you do to it except getting a remap? Isn't it possible to remove the DPF or are there some problems with the MOT and stuff like that ? |

| I don't think that it is possible to remove or bypass the DPF. A remap on the pd170 will produce figures around 200-210 bhp and torque of 310-330 lb/ft (based on reported REVO figures) A remap is pretty lively on a standard car!! ![]() |

| The DPF has some sensors which report back to the ECU so to remove the DPF would give you additional headaches.

| Well i thought there would be problems with the ECU but i did see other cars with DPF removals... So until now, the only performance mod available for this engine is a remap. How about the CR 170 ? Will the engine's capabilites be limited by the dpf again ? |

| Very possibly. It's a fact that I think you'll have to come to terms with. It may be possible to go for a more severe route such as bigger turbo etc with a custom map but IMHO it wouldn't really be worth it. Get yourself a Bluefin and make do or buy a different car.

| Well, the car is great as it is, but I was just thinking. BTW, I did see an exhaust made by milltek which (they say) removes the DPF..nothing mentioned about the ECU. Thx for the info .Later edit: I found a forum and a bloke there had his leon fr tdi custom remapped and fitted a dpf-free exhaust. The car was running 235bhp and 480nm...so..i guess it is possible the estimated price for all this was about 3k euros.Last edited by stilgar; 03-07-2008 at 19:53. |

I agree with Stu, this should be enough to put a smile on your face!!!!! Plus you get a 7 day refund policy with the Bluefin remap! If you don't like it, send it back! Or a 30 day refund policy with REVO. REVO is more expensive though (but SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun!) | |

| Figures in my signature are for a pretty agressive map on a pretty much mechanically standard 1.9 commonrail. Only mechanical mod is the precat removed, main cat remains. VAG's commonrail will probably be pretty similar in standard mechanical trim. Bigger intercooler, exhaust, etc should see about 230hp I'd recon.
