Default Is it an (air) con

When I went into the Skoda dealer, I noticed a leaflet along the lines of a promo for air con servicing. IIRC it was about £50 and looked like it was quite elaborate, such as checking for leaks and even refilling the system if needed.
I am currently having no trouble with the air con and it does get nippy when its on so it works a treat, but, as I bought the car used and its 5 year old, Im wondering if I should get this done.

What does everyone reckon, is it worth £50 and will I notice any benifits?

Thanks
Mike Pembo

Air con. can harbour harmful bacteria, so although it may seem to work ok, after 5 years I would have it serviced just for peace of mind.
£50 seems very reasonable to me.

i'd say yes, my car is just over 5 years old and my air-con has pretty much stopped working despite being used verytime the car is.

my system hopefully needs no more than some seals and re-gassing.

Ahh, thats clinched it then, I will do that. I have severe asthma and allergies so I suppose its worth it for me to get it sorted.

I will phone Derek Slack's tommorrow to double check the offer is still on, if not Im still prepared to spend more than £50 on servicing it.

Thanks all!

I paid £60 for a drain, leak test and regas by a mobile company who came to my house so it's a good price, but I'd be insisting on getting it drained, leak tested and regassed anyway rather than just having the gas level checked

I paid £85 for the lot including an antibacterial flush through.

Well worth it as i was having permanant sore throats and sniffles, which are now massively reduced

Just got the Aircon Serviced and Aircon Treated (antibacterial).Phoned this morning to get a price for the aircon service at Derek Slacks and quoted me £50 for the service and top up and if I wanted the antibacterial it was another £20. When I asked when can they fit it in, they said "Bring it in now if you want" So, in the space of 3 hours while I was getting x rays of my head at t'hospical my car would be done when I got out. BRILLIANT!
There is now no whistle when the blowers are on, and the car smells like a fruit bowl
All for the tidy sum of £69.94

Well worth it IMHO.
