Thumbs up Best 185/60 R14?

Can some peeps do a search on mytyres for this tyre size and look at the various brands around £30, please? I favour the eco-contacts, from experience, but whats you best recommendation for tyres of this size. I'm thinking of getting some 14" alloys for winter time, which will need tyres - and ditching my 14" steels.

Which £30 tyre do you prefer?

Was going to say Eco-Contacts! I have Eco-contacts 3 on the front when I had to replace due to a puncture at 18K and just eco-contacts on the back. Not bad tyres. Got mine for £32 fitted.

I'm currently running some el-cheapo Ceat jobbies on mine that came with the car. Seem to be wearing very well after 10k and not had any scary experiences with them, even when being a hooligan Think I found them for about 40 quid a corner, but that did include fitting. If you want exact name, etc, I'll go and take a photo for yer

Bridgestone Potenza RE720 £34.80

Wet and dry grip and braking is way better than the ecocontact, wear is about the same. However the EcoContacts are marginally better in the snow.

If you can still get them go for uniroyals 540 or better still get some octy steels and go down that route

Thanks for info.

Rather than grip, performance, etc I'm more interested in the long wearing, but also economy, so something like an eco-contact may be give better mpg than a bridgestone. I shan't be driving in the same style with 14" wheels on so grip, etc is a second concern after economy

Eco-contacts are starting to win me over.

I may see what ATS will do eco-contacts for as well. I'v had no contact from matey with the 14s yet though. They're on the link below if you wanna peek - With my skoda centre caps in I reckon they'll look smart!
