| Briskodian | Brake pad wear indicator Having just changed to pads without the built-in wear indicator, I am left with a warning light on the dash. Is it possible to turn this off with VAGCom / dealer computer, or should I butcher the cable off the old pad, short the leads together and refit it? If I do this, will the light still need resetting now that the loop has been "broken" once?

| Mine has been "fixed" for the last 120k miles. Just create a "loop" from the old connector and heat wrap it. No need to ever refix |

BTW, how long should they feel like new brakes (ie no braking)? I plan to follow Ferrodo's procedure as soon as I can find a suitable road tonight. Will this cure it?
