Default Clutch/Flywheel

Hi all

I have an 05 superb 1.9tdi 130 bhp. Recently been having problems with clutch slip, today its just got alot worse slips now if you acceleate in 2nd,3rd 4th and sometime 5th.

I was wondering how would i known if I need just a cluth plate or the full kit.

Also I am thinking of remapping the car next month so would it be an idea to upgrade to a better clutch and single mass fly wheel any suggestions welcome

Hmmm.

If its slipping in all gear's you might have screwed your Flywheel too.
I was in this predicament and after summing up all the choice's i went with the Helix clutch and SMF, now this is not for everyone as im sure you know it rattles about a bit at idle BUT it will be a fit and forget clutch and will offer some serious performance.

If that doesnt sound your cuppa tea theres the Sachs that utilises the OEM DMF (if) your's is okay, also i believe sachs have developed a clutch that uses a SMF which doesnt rattle but i've not looked into this

If you want a Helix the cheapest source i found was Mardi Gras Motorsport

The new Sachs sports organic clutch and SMF is good, only a tiny bit of rattle on tickover.

Give Nick a call @ Jabba they are doing some very good deals at the moment.

Can't comment on state of flywheel, and will leave choice of single or dual mass to you (but if I was thinking of tuning I'd go single). I would get a full kit though: Compare the price of the full kit with the several hours time to remove and replace the box.

I've just had a flyer from TPS (Trade VAG Parts Centre) They have now added DMF's to their range of Parts Club stuff and they include a clutch as well. Quite surprised how cheap they come out at.

How much are they now Stu as dealers still talk £700 retail less any discount they give you.

I've only got prices for 1.9TDi (90/110) and 1.8T on the flyer but you'd get 3 of them and some change for the figure you mention.
