Octys with Xenons are a bloody tight fit...I say again bloody tight.

Then again you have taken the battery out...

The xenons wiring and depth eats into the area where the pipe needs to go down. Thus leaving a bit of brute force to position pipe. We also found it a little short, between MAF and a suitable location, however this is no doubt the looms again.

If it does fit, let us know, I was holding off on announcing till we fitted on a normal octy...

my quote during fitting was: It's coming off only when in the breakers yard.

Colin,

I was never given the option of xenons

Battery doesn't scare me...

Bear in mind that I am mad so I don't really care if it fits or not ... cuckoo !

My fear of ripping my new car to bits faded after about 1 day when I took everyone's advise to take my standard front speakers out to cut a flap in the foamy lining to improve bass... how many people remember those days?...

When I stick the filter on the end of the carbon pipe... replace the battery... put it all back together... and go for a celebratory spirited drive I shall let you know and post some pics

Pete

That drive was fun fun fun

Colin, yes the noise is cracking !

Nick, I wouldn't say difficult. In the end I had to take the wheel off and stick it on axle stands to gain working room. Then juggle. Colin was right... the tight bit is at the back of the headlight but it's ok.

All good

Somthing else I noted and was going to raise. The instructions describe the assembly such that the rubber hose, not the samco style, should be on the angle to carbon pipe...least that was our initial understanding. If you look at the Carbonio site, it shows the samco style at the top.

I note you assembled it the same way we did, using the rubber boot at the maf end and not the samco side. I will raise this question now as I would rather have two samco style connectors.

I know exactly what you mean.

Whilst it's okay the way I've got it... it's not really right.

The rubber boot isn't wide enough for the MAF so I've had to assemble it the wrong way round.

When I find out where to get some from, I am planning to buy a short piece of 3" (I think that'll be the right size) Samco hose and use that with two clamps.

I think that will make a much better connection.

What I added was a small band of insulation tape...not to hold it on, more to prevent ingress if it got pulled apart (boot and carbon pipe) as the engine moved . After a few thousand miles it appear that all is okay though.

I/we have no idea how that rubber boot would of held the filter on.
