I fitted one of the eBay CAIs that have been mentioned on here a frew times and am very happy with it, car seems more responsive and the noise is great. BUT... I've noticed a drop in fuel economy. Is this a side effect of the CAI or of my heavier right foot wanting to hear Darth growling ? Has anyone with a CAI fitted noticed a change in the fuel consumption, or is it just me ?

i fitted a CAI about a month back... before fitting the kit i averaged 34 ish now i average about 31 so yes i have seen a difference but like you say is it down to the car or your right foot... i drive my vrs hard most of the time so i'd say its down to me... don't think thats helps much but there you go.. i tried the vpower fuel (98 ron) and found very little difference considering its 95 pence per litre... has anyone else tried these higher ron fuels and had any success???

I use only shell optimax 98, now v-power99 and can say that in my opinion, on cars with larger engines, its better than using regular 95 ron fuels. i cant compare it to esso super or bp ultimate, because i never buy them. Shell has always been 2p cheaper a litre, and considering the 2,500 litres i use a year its worth staying with Shell (its the equivalent of a full tank a year, or a weeks free fuel! Shell also happen t have a garage next to my work. >)
