| faults on vRS tyres?? noticed on my dads vRS that the tyres are all cracked between the tread on all 4 tyres the cars a year old ond only done 6800 mile. the dealers not interested, at first they said they are only covered for 6k then said it's up to us to take the car to a one of the big tyre dealers pay for 4 new tyres, send the our tyres back to dunlop to decide if it's a fault or not, then they would give us the money back. but thats a lot of money to put out and at the end of the day theses tyre came with the car. also hit a brick wall with customer services they arn't interested aswell. has anybody else had any tyre problems? it's not been my week with skoda dealers ![]() |

| Tyres will crack due to the effects of the sun. You might have only done 6800 miles but how long have the tyres been on there ? eg. how long you owned the car ? Tyres will crack as time goes on but that can be helped by using tyre gel/back to black and the like which feeds the rubber and keeps it supple.

| Gerard........check the date stamp on the tyres, it is normally 4 numbers in an oval type emboss, if your car is a year old it shoul be **03 or even **02 the last numbers are year of tyre build the first two are "week" numbers Hope it helps

| I think a mixture of continental and dunlop tyres were used on the vRS.

| Ours came with Pirelli P6000 which have just been changed after 35K, no big problems, not cracking, just only scrubbing on the edges but think thats common. The Dunlops on my micra are suffering with this cracking so I do know what you mean, these have been on for almost 5 years (24K) though.
