Re: Green Air Filters

Compared to a clean paper air filter, you won't notice any performance gains from it, but it will increase the induction roar a little bit. My main motivation for changing to one was that with the miles I do, it would work out cheaper to have a washable filter than replacing the paper one every 10k miles.

Alternatives to Green are K&N and Pipercross...

Judging by what was posted in the other section of the forum I would say go pipercross....

Re: Green Air Filters

Mine's got a green filter in with stock box. Good enough for 260bhp with the right supporting mods. Having said that I'm considering going BMC CDA route as it would be a wider pipe, and less bending for the air to do.

My green filter has now done at least 60k, so has saved me some good money on stock filters.

Although a couple of people have had issues with those too. Everything's a gamble - I've never had a problem with Green or K&N

Re: Green Air Filters

Mmmm
I have had Pipercross on mine for a while
I do VERY high mileage
I have done 60k miles in mine and I have only had the car for 17 months
The majority of which have had the Pipercross filter on
I have made Pipercross aware that a couple of issues arouse and they have taken my filter away to be checked over
Which means my fuel economy has gone down
But then its the things I do for you guys
I must admit when I had the filter fitted I instantly got better fuel economy by approx 4mpg
Then there was a tad more noise , but the main bit was the throttle response
Felt so much more responsive

I fancy one of these when you clear up the issues with them.
Cheers
