Default Head light bulbs

I am sure this has been covered before, however I am going to ask. I find that the head lights in Skodas are not great, I can't readily change the size shape of reflector etc to improve this, but is it possible to but brighter bulbs that just have to be put into the car in replacement of the standard ones with out having to change wiring etc?

The PIAA super whites are good (eh Des)
The Phillips Rallye bulbs are very bright (measured it at between 1 and 1.2 mile the other night )

Normal and not quite so expensive, Phillips Vision Plus and Osram Silver Star are good.

Recently changed from Philips Blue Vision to Osram Silverstars.......the Silverstars have a longer beam on dipped than the Blue Vision....both are brighter than standard.

Are the fog lamp bulbs H7?

Compared to standard:

The PIAA ones are white, very white & > than 50% brighter
The Phillips Blue Vision are bluer and 30% brighter, but no higher wattage
Phillip Vision + and Orsam Silver Vision are whitey/blue, 50% brighter than std, but no higher wattage
Phillips Rallye are similar colour, slightly whiter and much higher wattage

Yep, they've been running that for a while. The sidelight bulbs are excellent, appear much brighter than the standard ones

I bet the wife hates going to work and leaving me with nothing to do till I start at 3o'clock, I always end up spending money.
Anyway thanks TaviaRS it was looking through the old threads that made me buy them!
I take it they are easy to fit, just a straight swap over?

Easy to fit....only fiddly bit is getting the covers off the back of the lamps and then putting them back on....it's bit crowded back there.

Cheers Jon for the fog lamp bulb number.

Visited my local car accessory shop, they had Phillip Vision + bulbs for about £20 a pair or Blue Vision for £35 per pair (with blue side light bulbs).

How do these compare for actually giving light, and how well do the Blue Vision bulbs do at looking like the Xenon lambs fitted to BMWs etc?

William, you need to read the "Octavia mods" FAQ - here - scroll down to near the bottom.

Anyway for once not working at the moment, have the night off! Don't know what to do with myself though, not used to this.
