Help with Fault Code

Car is a Audi A6 1.9D 2003

A fella I know has a problem with an Amber Oil light coming on intermittently, (has noticed it is mainly when he goes around corners or over ramps), but it doesn't stay on.

It has all started happening after a service. He brought it back and the guy put a hand held code reader on it and came up with the following

Fault code 1: 00562
Description:
011 Level thermal sensor –G266
Status:
OPN/SHT to Positive /SP

Any ideas of what to check for, could it be a loose connection or would sensor be broken.

Cheers for any help.

Re: Help with Fault Code

I'd check the connector to the sump sensor for water ingress/damage and that it is properly connected.

Wouldn't ya think though if a Mechanic went to the hassle of plugging in fault code reader that they might do a quick check on the obvious ie connector? I'm not questioning Lummox ....just the guy who did the service
