| I was going to start recommending UK people who could help, then I noticed you are kind of a small distance from the UK... Our first U.A.E member I suspect! So, how's the vRS coping with the sand? To get 400HP out of the vRS engine needs major amounts of dosh. Upgrades to the entire engine almost, new intercooler, massive turbo, big exhaust, porting, ECU remap of course... The list goes on. If Des or Jon notice this thread I bet they'll be able to guide in more detail. Welcome!

| looool... yeah im looking into it... but as far as the sand and all that goes... well its winter, so running at 4am is fantastic because of the humid cool air... but im telling u, if there is a sand storm.. one of my freinds put it perfectly, every other road u have to get down and clean ur airfilter. but the stock airfilter is ok i guess.... because of the heat u can't use a modified car in the summer,. u will blow ur engine easily!.. but i mean people here have cash like u've never seen before.... as they blow one engine they have other (fast ***) cats waiting... but what to do? i just have RS.. which is great... i had a fabia for 2 years, then upgraded to an RS.. thanks for the info, and the nice welcome.. btw the distance as far as parts and stuff isn;t a problem the car enthus here order everything... and we have performance garages too, but i think im the 4th RS in the UAE, and im sure im gonna be the first to modify it (hopefully) so 400hp is too much? what would the ideal/finaicially logical thing to do...? |

| Bill's mark4 Golf produces 400bhp (I think)......it's runs the Jabba IHI kit...not sure which stage though. Anyone know the spec? Bill? Dahlback Racing (Sweden) have a 350bhp RS......there's a link somewhere. Or may be you can wait until Des has finished his SuperB project. ![]()

![]() Do you plan to run your car with around 400 horses all year round or just in the cooler winter months ? You'll need some serious cooling to keep the lump cold, maybe a slush sprayer (instead of water one) to keep your inlet temps sub 50 degrees is required? ![]() Seriously though, I wouldn't know where to start. But then again, I don't know anything about 1.8T tuning ![]() Surely someone will be able to help you out. Maybe some local garages have techniques for sorting out heat-related problems ? Good luck with the project though and welcome to briskoda

| Yeah dubai gets hot as hell.. well first most of the guys race at night... actually i have never been to a race during the day time.... most of them have other cars they use during the day and summer etc.. Mostly japanese cars because they have fantastic airconditioners...as far as cooling the car down... we don't drive our cars during the day.... and even if we do.. we keep it well below the 3500 RPM mark... so its not a problem... :drive: im just wondering what to do and what to put and where do get it from.. ive been surfing the net, left right and center... but im so confused because everyone has something and i don;t want to double buy something.... and here they have no experience with the RS. |

| Welcom vengance. I lived in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 12 years, so know what you mean about the heat. I thought it was lovely. Yes, you can import the stuff, like others do. I'm sure plenty of the suppliers here will sort you out with export stuff. I think you will find the hardest part to be the remapping of a standard ECU and may be forced down the standalone ECU route for those sort of numbers. You will need: a new turbo (GT28 or bigger or an IHI one), new injectors (440 or bigger), possibly fuel pump, FPR, manifold, downpipe (or adaptor) and a decat system (although a 100CPI cat would also be acceptable) and some better cooling. For the Garrett turbos, try Al Wesal Trading Co in Dubai not sure about the IHI stuff over there. Re the cooling, I would recommend a FMIC with either a waterspray or gas spray system. Use methanol instead of screenwash if going the waterspray route, the alcohol content helps to get rid of the heat better (cleans the screen well too ). Another possible is water injection. Some suppliers for you: For MoTEC, try Arabian Auto Technologies over in Sharjah. For the Garrett turbos, try Al Wesal Trading Co in Dubai, not sure about the IHI stuff over there. Adapter, AET in Yorkshire can do them (think they also do manifolds) For suspension, try KW V3. Probably best getting it direct from Germany. Jon |

2 x IHI cars. SEAT Ibiza and Golf IV Golf has more power but Ibiza is faster. (lighter) MKIV is closest to Octavia as an example. Runs a Jabbasport IHI conversion to stage 3+, but uses a larger hybrid IHI turbo. Also being an earlier AGU engine it has a largeport cylinder head. S3 pistons, Pauter steel rods, 2.75" exhaust, large induction kit and enlarged MAF housing, 6 spd g'box etc etc etc,.... more info on their website http://www.jabbasport.com Ran 414bhp on 1.5bar I think, but more usually 380bhp whilst I was driving it. Other things to explore would be ATP manifold (http://8vturbo.com) and a GT28RS turbo perhaps, but the key will be finding someone to supply a matched ecu to go with whatever turbo setup you end up going for.... or, as Jon said, going aftermarket ecu with something which is mappable locally and supported locally. APR Stage III in the USA is something to look at to get ideas from. www.vwvortex.com here>> http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeroforum?id=27 is a good resource of info going on stateside... Its a bit tetchy over there tho with people lining up to shoot any inaccurate post down in flames... (DOH!), but if you can live with that... there are some good guys on there also, who know their stuff. FMIC is going to be a must have I would guess..... Good luck.. hope this helps regards bill

You have one distinct advantage.... the 20V turbo motor is Awesome and very tunable. 20V cylinder head is a superb flower. Combined with a free spooling larger turbo you will be able to release some serious horsepower. Enjoy. ![]()
