How do i get behind the Fabia glovebox?

Ive got a REALLY annoying clonking noise coming from behind the glovebox in my car. The dealer has failed to fix it so now i want to have a go myself! I can take the glovebox out no problem but im met by a solid bit of plastic that i cant get behind to see whats knocking behind it...im really hoping its not the air bag. Is there an easy way in or am i going to have to take the dash off? Thanks...

There aint that much that can knock behind there. the airbox that Ade is refering to is the heater box where the pollen filter etc sits.

Are you sure it aint the other side in the engine bay?

Im pretty sure its coming from beind the dash. The dealers said it wasnt a suspension or engine bay thing, theres definately nothing moving around there. It clonks when driving over cobbles and going round corners, like a loose pipe or wires or something Somethings moving in there! The dash also "clicks" in the corner all the time which annoys me...i dont know if its related

Martin you sure its not some of the cables behind your head unit. I found my RCA leads knock about.

Just a thought. Probably wrong.

Im pretty sure yeah, ive took the glovebox out and got my dad to drive around with me and its like the clonking is coming from to the right of the passanger side air vent...but behind the dash. Its not the door, its not my strut and ive bounced the suspension when still and there is no knocking noise. Its got to be some form of cable or pipe behind there but im damned if i can figure out how to get to it!

Its not the infamous dashboard mount squeak then?

May be worth getting under the car if possible, remove the cover and have a good wobble of everything under there... But as mentioned, nothing can really "clonk" - plenty of stuff to squeak. If its the ARB thats a warranty job - I had to pay for my replacement unfrotunately.

edit: tried (gently) wobbling around the airbag connectors/brackets and stuff? Apart from that, there's nothing actually directly under the dash there, bar the fan unit... Thats easy to take apart BTW, if you want to look inside it.

Oh bugger...looks like its back to the dealers then, and they are starting to get annoyed with me as i keep going back with rattles and clonks and brakes and gear sticks and roof linings I might try another dealer.
