Question How much oil?

Question for one of the Skoda Tech's on board.

How much oil goes into the Fabia vRS? Mine is about to be put through it's 10k service at work and I need to know how much oil to buy. Am guessing between 5-6 litres going by Toyota's Derv lumps.

Cheers guys.

I thought it was 4.5 litres... I bought five litres in readiness for my 40K self-service. If it's any more I'm gonna have to buy some more.

Four litres for a oil and filter change should do it.

Cheers Ross. A 5 litre bottle will be just fine then.

It's 4.5 litres (with filter change) for 1.9 diesels.

Jason feels less thick now for thinking 4.5 litres was correct...

to Denis too, for confirming.

As do I mate, four litres brings it up to the top of the cross hatched area on the dip stick.

4.5 litres is the official figure shown in the vehicle's technical data. The 1/2 litre discrepancy is presumably because it is not practicable to drain the engine dry of oil during an oil change. I will wait with interest to see how much oil my 4X4 needs on its first service on Friday. (It also takes 4.5 litres).

A 1.8T usually does take 4.5 litres of oil.

Oh dear...

It's a warning lamp, not a reminder to check the oil...

I'd be a bit more careful in future if i were you, you've probably been lucky.

I couldn't put it better myself, except perhaps for substituting 'much more' for 'a bit'. 4.8 pints of oil to top up is an awesome amount....
