| I’d like to nominate myself... Yes that’s right - I’d like to nominate myself for the "getting things stuck in the must inaccessible place" award! Picture the scene - driving along on a hot day I decided that I simply had too much loose change in my shorts pocket. Simple solution, put it all in the front central arm rest. However, when I got home and lowered the armrest to retrieve the house keys it wouldn’t open more then half an inch or so! Peering in I could see a £1 coin stuck behind the hinge. The more the arm rest was opened the tighter the coin was wedged. With the help of a bent paperclip I was able to fish the keys out, but there was no way my big hand was going to be able to get the coin... Had to confess all to wife later and persuade her to have a go - eventually she retrieved the coin! So everyone a word of warning - Do not put small items in the front central arm rest.... |

| Think I'm in the running for this award too...... Pushed the tab on stereo faceplate, which immediately sprang off and into the footwell. No problem.........but upon reaching down I discover...... That it's neatly slotted in just beneath the bottom of the drivers seat and the fixing rails..... Given that: a) I drive with seat all the way back b) I drive with the seat in lowest position c) it's a really narrow and tight space d) I didn't want to cut my faceplate in half e) I'm not blessed with small nimble fingers I had to get the daughter of one of my friends to fish it out. But coins in tight spaces are a real pain....... |

| Have done the "coins stuck in hinge of armrest" trick myself... the trick is not to fold it upright with coins in it.. which I remembered, but my dealer didn't! (result was broken hinge, but they replaced it, after 3months waiting for the part)

| I once had to try to repair a broken pipe from the water jacket on a Kia Pride (long story why involving a tasty blonde ) , and where was the fracture? ...Behind the bleedin manifold i had about 2 inches to try and seal up this damned pipe and not melt my hands, end result was burnt hands and arms and nearly 3 hours of swearing at the thing. I couldnt remove the manifold as it was rusted on and I broke a couple of studs before giving up. I used a bicycle innertube and a load of zip ties and told her to go to the garage ASAP, did she heck it is still not properly fixed after about 3 months, I must have done a good job of it, bodging at it's best |

| had the same thing (coins) happen on the ashtray in my R19... i had to take the ashtray out in the end and use a knife to get enough coins out before i could open the damn thing. You'd also think i'd learn that my phone shoots out of the trinket tray when i pull away sharply too wouldnt you !?..... i havent though ![]()

| The seat runners on an Omega are a gnat's whatsit narrower than a £1 coin, and if you're not careful, you can get one jammed in the runner, and it'll stop the seat moving! Didn't happen to me, but one of the cars on our fleet spent a couple of days having one removed...... Phil |
