Exclamation impossible performance!!!!!

After having JABBA do there magic on my tav-Rs car now 242bhp i am starting to find it slow!! in the past i have owned cars with big bhp eg: escort cozzy/911/and the last Scooby so i brought the tav for long term cost saving but ive done it again got on that slope down hill and when i was at jabba last Brian spoke about 350bhp conversion and i know there seat ibiza is that i think (anyone been out in it)!! and i would like such conversion myself i find that there is too much turbo lag and i would like none or very little and that the wheels spin to easy and will do this with traction on so is it possible to get 300/350 bhp without spining as its no point havin this amount of power if you cant use it im going to give jabba a call in the morn regarding costs, also who else does this conversion to get the power upto 300/350 and what sort of money are we talking!! i know alot of you would say 250bhp is all you need for everyday use but i want my TAV to kick ****.

you can get 300hp on the stock - no lag turbo.

you can also get 350+ with a hybrid version.... that one day TaviaRS will sort for me.........

You bought the Octavia to save money, and are now contemplating spending £3500 on it because it's not fast enough? Isn't that a false economy? Surely the increase in running costs will put the car on par with a Scoob. Think of the cost in tyres alone. With 350 BHP going through the front wheels, I'd be surprised if you got 12,000 miles out of a set of front tyres.

just think that 3.5k for a new turbo and a zorst is a little steep considering he has already paid for a remap.

hybrid turbo is about $1100 form US bolt on. milltek about 800 quid

remap say 400 = well under 2k even with a filter....

or does the conv include new fuelpump / injectors / fpr / uprated hoses / clutch / flywheel etc?

I don't think this price is quite right....300bhp would be the stage2 turbo kit?

There's a bit more include in the kit but I think you have a few of them already fitted so the price should be adjusted.

Although if you going the decat route I guess you'd have the new dp.

I guess though this is the fitted price.

I personally think a few people have bought Octavias - Paul is one such (aren't you Paul) - who could actually afford much more exotic machinery, but like the idea that they can buy a cheap (to them) car, and do lots to it. They will tell you they did it to save money, but I think that's just a conscience salve really.

I would have thought that you would also be getting close to the limit of traction through the front wheels unless you go for a LSD. I would also assume that some extra stopping power would be required. Maybe that's the diff in price?

Totally agree Nick.. am sure that as a fellow Porsche owner you appreciate the finer side of life and dont wish to destroy yours either... hence the Octy is cheap to mod/break/run.... but 3.5k for the parts listed is **** Turpin territory.. I hope its an error

Checked the stage2 kit and there's alot more kit in it...can't be bothered to list them ...does include injectors.

Kit cost £2385 plus fitting, remapping and some choice extras.

As I said previously, Dave already has some of the bits fitted so the price should be cheaper than that.

The difference is my Porker probably cost less than the mods to your Octy

From another angle - what about a different engine - what else would fit easily? Presumably the stronger 225bhp job would go in?

unless you want to go beyond 400hp this would not be a factor...
easiest swap then is a chevy v8 on the back seats.

Chevy V8? That's a girls engine. I've got a nice Ford 351 lump that you could have for FREE if you want it! I'll charge you £14k delivery (or £13k collection) and even chuck in a free Mustang which it's still attached to
