Surely this should be standard by now?...i know it isnt tho coz mine hasnt got one! Incidentally on RHD cars , dont take 'passenger side' literally , as he is talking about a LHD car , we need to do this mod to the drivers side!!

Has anyone done this to their RS and found any difference? Must say mine feels much lower in power in these 20 C temps. Roll on FMIC.

What is it? I don't recognise any of it... Does it (the vent) sit in the wheelarch or something?

Its in the plastic wheelarch liner on a TT , in front of the wheel , look on the drivers side of the car (for RHD cars) and you will see said vent.

why not just drill loads of holes in your liner with a 10mm drill bit?

or cut a rectangle out and use some chicken wire to cover the hole?

why not do both sides and improve brake cooling?

Not to sure about just drilling holes in the liner as this would allow ingress of stones etc from the wheel at speed. If you notice on the link the louvres on the panel face down deflecting stones back into the wheel arch.

Decided on the boll0cks to it approach...

removed lower tray and cut liner up about 9inches on passenger side - for brake cooling... also drilling out the diamonds on the bumper vent at the front as this is where the cold air redirection is coming from for the air inducton kit...

on drivers / intercooler side.. bought some RGM styling mesh and created a 9" x 6" vent in the arch liner.. left the lower tray in on this side as it creates a tunnel round th eintercooler for air to flow through...

as well as this the lateral slats in the front bumper are now black rather than body colour - looks much meaner...

Paul,
What has been the effects of doing this performance-wise, anything noticeable?

Paul,

can you get us some pics of your handy work?

Can then put it in the FAQ section.

will take some pics... no idea on performance as im running std boost - im having a live remap on 7th july - basically they will turn up the boost as high as they can before they get spikes - so i am working to move the threshold as high as i can - hence the vents bigger turbo inlet and im on the look out for some samco hoses..

also been told the water pump is a weak spot anyone comment?

No you're right; APR/REVO.

Some interesting info on there site; anodised DV are a bad idea from a heat disappation point of view.

There I was already to get a red one....doh! Shiny silver one instead I suppose.

Cheers.
Adrian.
