| I have a standard 53 reg Octy Vrs. When I put my foot hard down in 2nd and 3rd, I hear the turbo hissing and then it seems to get quieter as the revs build past 3000-3500rpm. Then the car seems to lack a bit of power, however if I lift the gas off and then pur my foot down again, the power seems to come back! Is this anything to worry about? The loss of power is not massive, but noticeable. Have I got a pressure leakage somewhere? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. SC ![]() |

| Go for the Bailey's one over the standard one. But, before you do this, are you sure its the valve leaking? |

| well, it depends on what sort of sound you are after really, you need to have a dump valve, but you can either get recirculating one like the oe factory one or you can go for a atmospheric one that gives you the "psssssst" sound, personally i would stick with the original one, but it's a matter od personal choice

| Atmospheric ones will cause a fault code and limp home mode. The ECU expects the air thats being dumped to be fed back into the intake, if its not then overfuelling occurs and generates a fault code. The OEM valve is only a few quid and quiet easy to change, try that before spending around £100 on a good aftermarket one. If you want the Psssshhht sound then either replace the standard airbox with a CAI, or fit a green airfilter.
