Who makes them? Where is the prrof they are better than the originals? Who provides the guarantee and how can one claim against it? And does the Sale of Goods Act apply to purchases on eBay? I'd think I would pass on this one.

NOOOOOOO don't do it! I got a genuine Bosch MAF on ebay for £50 and its happily going well in my car, but if one goes wrong I know also know that for £75-£80 dealers also do swapsy MAFs, where they change just the sensor in the original housing. I wouldn't try any other MAF but OEM ones - Ross will testify how using a different MAF ended up causing more problems than it did good.

Or, get on't t'internet to www.eurocarparts.co.uk.

Original bosch MAF for the Skoda/VW (ring to confirm the required part number and compatability, their online catalogue is ) cost me
£86 inc VAT.
None of this "just change the sensor" malarkey for me.....i want everything new and shiny........the image from the seller is just the sensor bit, not the whole housing unit.......

Fit it yourself, or get a mate/friendly mechanic to do it. Took me (total noob) about 40 mins (10 to actually do the job, 15mins for scratching head thinking and rest of time for a coffee!)

This was just like me, but I'd seen K with his surclip pliers, so had that sussed, and changing the housing over was like a 2 minute job, one electric cable to pull out, some pipe to take off, couple of screws (if not changing whole top of airbox too like me ) then refit.

I got mine from euro carparts in Leeds and it came with a new housing but the sensor can be unscrewed if you use a torx security 25 bit and it is a straight swap and far easier to do this than change the housing due to those HUGE circ-clips!!!!
