Does the 90/100 W Ralleye bulb pose a threat to the wiring or circuits, and do they really only last a short time ??

Neither has mine! Done about 1000 night time / dark miles and they are still fine. Can't outdrive the bu99ers either (but then my car and driving is notoriously slow)

Well ordered my bulbs midnight Tuesday and they arrived complete with the free sidelights this morning. That is a fantastic service by any standards, and considering free delivery it is amazing.

Jon,
In your evaluation what do you think about Blue Visions compared with Rallye 90s or Vision Plus for long throw as well as dip?

I'm about to use this company for some vision plus dipped bulbs too. Nice to see this number of good reports about them before I use them for the first time. - but I'm worried that the Rallye main beam bulbs Jon's threatening to post to me for nowt (not a threat I mind. ) - that they'll be too powerful and cause heat/melting problem in my Fabia's headlight units... Still in two minds.

I am just reporting in on the Philips Rallye bulbs. The brightness is awesome, huge improvement over standard. Very sharp cut off on dip with a full and bright white illuminated area. Main beam is fantastic too, the only thing which is a bit off-putting is the large amount of reflection back from the street signs such is the power output of these lamps.

Overall a big thumbs up over standard but remember they are not for road use !

Not road legal though are they?

Wouldnt like giving an insurance company a loophole to screw you through!

You never think about these things till the unthinkable happens...

.... glad my diadems are road legal.

So anyone tried the osram bulbs then? the Osram silver star?

I'm trying to decide to get the philips Vision plus or the Osram silver star...

definitely need a whiter light and also a MUCH stronger/further throwing light

anyone melted their wires with the philips rallye??? cos i like the idea of putting stronger bulbs in - always did that with my old golfs with no worries

anyway my first post hope to hear back quickly - cos i gotta buy something soon!!

cheers

Got the Osram Silver Star on my Fabia. Much brighter and whiter than the original fit bulbs - cheap way to get better vision/range etc.
Tried the Philips blue visions on previous car - obviously blue tinge but not the range of the Osrams. ( not tried vision plus )

Osram Silver Star H4 and Osram All Season H3 for the fogs - keep it legit as they have issues in Switzerland with things like that

Will let you know how they go..

In case anyone reads this - antoher questions - i have those kamei headlights surrounds (were on car when i bought it) to make it look like 2 lights - do they block out any light??? was considering taking them off

thanks

cheers

There used to be a company called BR Motorsport who did tuning parts for VW's. One item was an uprated headlamp loom if you wanted to fit more powerful bulbs. I fitted one to my GTI Mk II along with 160/100w H4's in the outer headlamps, supplemented by a pair of Oscar Plus driving lamps in place of the original inner units, fitted with 100w bulbs

It was bright..........
