| Ask Neo_VR about his brake upgrade. He's upgraded to 312mm disc and calipers of a Octavia vRS. Been looking into these myself but I've just went out and bought a new sub so have to wait till next month.

| Here i am 312mm discs and calipers with OEM discs and DS2500 pads... brake power is now incredibly stable and powerful. without going OTT with brembos. Also get yourself a strut brace ![]() |

| There was a group buy not that long ago for the Ferodo DS2500 pads. I got mine for £95 delivered IIRC, fronts only ![]() Calipers are off an octy vrs. Can phone around breakers for octy ones (green), or other WAG group ones will fit (from an S3 for example). Same applies to the discs. Standard are 288mm, next step up is 312mm. I think you need to get the bigger discs to fit the bigger calipers which take the ds2500 pads. Next size up for brakes is 323mm, but then you need 17" alloys, and if you go brembo like Ross, you need to make sure you get the right alloys 'cos of the clearence with the spokes (brembos stick out a fait bit). Strut brace can be bought for a seat ibiza and it bolts straight on ![]() Under a £100 too, so quite cheap and have heard good reports of it stiffening up the front end. Makes steering tighter and more controlled apparently (I haven't got one... ...yet )I think hoses are braided standard. They're pretty stiff steel inserts I thought. No doubt Colin or Ross or one of the techie ones will answer... Put it this way, I don't think Ross has changed his hoses and he's got brembos up front and bigger discs for the rear. Pretty mental braking methinks HTH

| I have braided hoses as they come part of the GT Brembo kit we supply. 323mm Discs and four pot calipers Soon to have the 256mm vented rears on, one more coat of paint and they will be ready. SEAT Ibiza (2002 MY on) strut brace, do a search on it, price £50. They dont do a lower one though as far as I know. Milltek are also now retailing the full system with or with out high flow sports cat for the vRS with twin round tailbox Last edited by Lummox; 12-06-2004 at 17:36. |
