A parcel has arrived ...

.... addressed to me.

It's my new SilverStar bulbs, but I have a question. The free sidelight bulbs are the titchy little W5W variety, is this right for an Octy vRS?

My car is over in the multi-storey, and I haven't got time to nip over for a look, so I wondered if one of you kind Gents could advise.

Not that I'm excited or anything, you understand ...

Far be it from me to have started skidding down the infamous slope. Mind you, the bulbs should go nicely with the claer indicator bulbs I got at the weekend , never mind the Dynatwist kit that will hopefully be the next parcel to drop on my desk ...

Just be careful when you fit them - especially if the weather is cold http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6226

:p yip, it nearly happened to me.

I thought I'd be clever and fit them in the well-lit multi-storey car park, and I'd read your earlier post, so I was being careful, but I still nearly lost one!!

The wires are tight on the lamps ... I had a heck of a job getting the nearside one out. I've only driven home in it tonight, and only part of that is down a lane (slight detour ...) where I could use main beam, but IMHO they're not a great deal different. The blue sidies look cool though :p

Hmmm - I must go out with the camera and get some main beam shots with Jon's bulbs in.

The blue sidies to look quite good when off, but I guess their appearance is the main thing, not the way they light up. (after all they're only sidelights)

Personally I really like the look of the bluevision sidelights.
I was hoping to fit mine to the new RS but I cant get the covers of the back of my headlamps

And I thought the root of all problems was getting the covers back ON securely so they don't fall off again...

Well maybe if you cant get them off in the first place they are more idiot proof!

No, seriously I cant get at the side light bulbs because the xenon light setup is different. Perhaps best left to the dealer? or let another briskodian figure it out first.

I didn't spot much difference on the main beam, but the dip was much better

Yeah, getting them off is easy. Putting the bl**dy things back on securely is a bit more of a challenge
