| This is probably a question for BIG K, I have just bought a new vRS Estate with parking sensors & want to fit my fixed towbar ( NON DETACHABLE ) from my previous car. The question is will the towbar be detected by the sensors, or will I need to buy a detachable towbar. Thanks in advance for the help. Ta Paul, the new vRS ![]() |

| I don't know about the sensors but if I were buying a towbar - and 4 of my recent cars have had them fitted - I would opt for one with a detachable hitch. This is to help minimise the risk of the tow bar causing major chassis damage in the event of a rear end shunt.

| There is no way round it, you either have to fit a detachable tow bar or put up with an annoying constant beep when reversing. My old man had the same scenario with his 320d touring, he opted for the annoying beep and a fixed tow bar. |

| Paul, I can categorically tell you that the answer is NO! I have parking sensors and a detachable tow bar and I always takre the tow ball off immediately after use as the parking sensors don't work with it fitted - as somone else said, they just bleep continuously!! John.

| On the towbar subject, for those with detachable bars, which, where & how much did you pay for one. Cheers All, Paul J ![]() |
