Re: Pole.... Re-Map

The "why" bit is hardly a poll?

Seriously though...you're not going to get a straight forward answer....this question has been asked many times before....and it generally degenerates to "mine's better than yours".

Every tuner has it's own supporters and it's pros and cons.

What it really boils down to is location and cost....as generally all maps are much of a muchness.

So a note to everyone....keep it sensible as I'm watching and have padlock at the ready.

Re: Pole.... Re-Map

My vote goes to AmD for the one-click re-map

165bhp & 255lb/ft from a generic map (no rolling road time)

Easily turn off and onable. Tweekable at a later stage for greater increases

Re: Pole.... Re-Map

I had several maps on my old RS:

Upsolute: Not nice at all
Superchip - had that on for about 60k miles before swapping to Jabba
Jabba - the best one for me. Michael mapped it exactly how I wanted it ie not going for peak fiugures (which can lead to spikey power) but going for the most area under the lines. It really did fly as many will testify

I liked it so much that when I next needed a remap they were the only ones I'd consider.

Not getting in to the who's better malarky, my only advice would be; talk to the tuners. Go with who you feel you can trust and who you think will do the best job. Look for someone who has been around for a while, possibly preps race cars and can do what you want. I am happy to share my experiences by PM, but won't post them here as it may lead to a slanging match, but they are my opinions and they are based on my experiences. It is your money and there are some people out there who talk the talk but can't walk the walk. If all you want is a high peak figure your choice may be different to mine was.....

AMD now offer a one-click fo rthe 1.8T. Had they of done this when I had our Octavia remapped I would have gone for that for its switchability (and they were, at the time, 3mins down the road)

Don't know of any Polish remappers, or any remappers who cater specifically for Poles.

Sorry

Revo,

Simply because Jabba are too far away...

My Ibiza was remapped by Superchips and I was really impressed with that remap

Re: Pole.... Re-Map

This really is a pointless poll as most of the mapping on Briskoda has been carried out by Jabba therefore they are going to win hands down on any poll. It's almost like asking which is the best car manufacturer on a Skoda site, it's a no brainer.

Saying that, you won't go far wrong with a Jabba remap. It's not what I'm running but they are still good.

Pointless poll. A remaps a remap. Just stick to a well known company you can trust.

Re: Pole.... Re-Map

I've considered several tuners. The main thing is that if you go for a custom mapping you need someone that is experienced in mapping cars and has a good reputation. If you don't go for a custom map, you can get a cheap remap that works well for loads of places.

I'm sure every tuner has had good and bad experiences with every type of car/engine combo, some due to their mechanical side, others due to their software side. There are at least two tuners I know of that are avoided by some and praised by others - I am probably going to end up with a tuner nearer to where I live, due to the fairly custom combination of stuff on my car

More important is that YOU know what YOU want from your car and can tell whichever tuner you end up with what you want, and then ENJOY

I had a revo map on my Cupra. Had an SPS1, which is basically an on off swich for the map. The SPS 2 and 3 allow various things to be switched, octane rating and immobiliser on the SPS2, timing and boost settings for the SPS 3. REVO map is agressive, so big boost early on but will bring a smile to your face.

Trev, have you tried searching

Seriously, you'll learn more and get a better overall impression by reading hundreds of posts on the topic than a poll will teach you

I know what you mean Bengie, sometimes you get it right first time but quite often it takes 3 or 4 attempts to find the right company for you. I'm very happy with who I use and luckily it's not too long a drive.

Surely we can all agree that Hyundai are the best car manufacturer?

that's only really a valid statement for a generic remap on a standardish car, when the settings are going to be fairly conservative and everything averages out..

For a custom remap, especially with more mods, the variations are more significant as well as the opportunity to get it tailored to your personal liking.

Re: Pole.... Re-Map

I like the APR remap, 208bhp and 245lbs torque, nothing too peaky and got great pick up.

like everyone has said, it's all down to personal preference.
