Squeaky Brakes!

I run EBC greenstuff on my firby which are great, EXCEPT when my pupils are being too gentle with the brakes, they dont heat up the pads and hence they seem to glaze over and start to squeak! Well I have had this now for a few weeks and the usual trick of a few heavy brake applications was only partially curing it! So on the way home last night I managed, I dont know how, to have the brakes full on and the car going full bore in 2nd! Well this lasted for about 200 yards, and I then stopped at a junction with more than a touch of brake fade..... At which point smoke started rising from the front discs (Well and truely cooked!) and you should have seen the face of the driver who went past me!!!! Anyway now we have no squeak nice smooth braking and no strange pull or snatches so no warbed discs (thankyou oh mighty one!) Lets see how long till my mouse returns.....

If it does try sticking some copper greas on the "BACK" of the pads, also one of the pad manufacturers do sticky anti squeal pads to go on the back of the pad. I had similar problems with my DS2500's & the stickies have eliminated 99% of it
