Some of you know I hate my Auto fabia sedan because it's so slow, but something happened the other day. The warning lights were showing, EPC and the Engine block illumination, so Autopoint Volkswagen in Luton, v.good checked only to find nothing. The computer was reset and that would have been end of story, but they came on again a few days later, this time the computer diagnosed a faulty air injection sensor or something, so they cleaned it, All that day the car moved like a 911 Porche, it was rediculously fast, what the hell did they do to it! I kept doing wheelspins and the tranny kept changing in the high 4-5's, I swear it was going sooo much faster than before, I did 115 on the dual carrigeway, funny because the top speed is 103, admittedly on a slight decline, but still very fast. Allmost crashed after understeering round a roundabout. So the lights re-appered and the sensor was replaced. She raced a little at idle for a few days but has now gone back to her old slow and sluggish self, what the hell happened. p.s should my air injection sensor fail allready at just 11,000 miles.

| I'd get yours checked as the wifes combi is no slouch once irs moving it does a great job at keeping up with the TDi (except out and out grunt )! You tried running with some injector cleaner.......

What I was really asking is what they did to it to make it so fast, and how I can do it?

So..they cleaned the air injection sensor, and this fixed things for a while. Then it went sluggish, so they replaced the sensor. Then it went sluggish again. Sounds like the air injection sensor is getting dirty, and they're changing the symptom rather than the cause! Rob.

Go back to your dealer and say that the repair work they've done only cured the problem temporarily, and that it has now returned. If you're under warranty, it shouldn't cost you anything, while if you're not under warranty then the least they could do is a "goodwill" rate seeing as they haven't fixed the problem... ![]() Bearing in mind I know nothing at all about what I'm talking about: if the air sensor is getting mucky, it seems to suggest that there's a fair bit of dirt going past it. However, the airflow into the engine should be near enough clean, and it could indicate a problem with the air filter/air filter housing. And you don't want gunk being sucked into the engine! Rob.

No, I think you misunderstood me a little, When I said she wen't back to her slow old self, I meant the normal factory performance. When It was cleaned it went faster than it's standard specification, It has gone slower now, but it's running "Normal". Has anyone got any idea why it went so fast, I overtook a Mondeo GT with ease, and it was going fast, and did 115mph down the Dual carriageway, So you can see it's much faster than normal. Allthough driving in the fun was fantstic, without ABS and TC, I allmost hit a tree!!!, Im being sarcastic of course..........
