Talking Surprising side-effect of FMIC

I've recently had a big FMIC fitted to my Octy, and although on the rolling road back at AMD, it hasn't done anything in the way of additional peak power outputs, it has made both bhp and torque curves plateau for longer as the revs near the limiter, so good news there.

Interestingly though, lately I am finding I am getting an extra 30 or 40 miles per tank of fuel. I don't know if that is because the shift in where power picks in the rev range (up from about 3750 rpm to about 4500 for torque) and so under normal usage I am using a more efficient level rev range, or is it something else. Anyone else know what I am rambling on about?

Faster than most octys too

just coz i got the performance, doesnt mean i need to use it all the time, this car is my day to day car and my weekend car.. so it suits me well economy-performace

altho i did upset a evo 6 driver earlier who had about 20-odd wideboys packed in it

Interesting, Im not, must be me enjoying it more !!
Next time youre at AMD get them to raise the limiter a few hundred revs, Ive been running mine like that for about a year with no problems, those extra few revs mean I dont hit the limiter (except in top on one occasion

IIRC there were only a couple of cars that i would class as faster round anglesey that weekend.. Jon, pikey, that elise and the blue caterham..
everything else was pretty similar (is that democratic enough)
either way.. currently on 590 miles with range of 75 to go.. and theres usually another half gallon when it reaches 0

I'm not talking about how fast anyone was going around, more about the amount of pussyfooting that was going on
