Question TDi Engine Cover?...

Is there a "thing" that is suppost to go over the top of the mounting point indicated in the pic? - every time ive opened the bonnet since ive got the car, the engine cover has come off the rubber bit. even when its on there is quite a bit of free play... anyone care to enlighten me?

There isnt supposed to be anything over the top, but mine doesnt come off, needs to be pulled up at the front and then forwards.

Mine has come off a couple of times, but not for ages.
As Andy said i methinks it is adjustable.

Make sure its located correctly and pushed right down on the other two prongs.

Spray a little bit of WD40 on the rubbers on the cover at the front. This will ease them onto the mounting points on the engine and ensure it pops home properly.
