Which one, a temp sensor or an evaporator.

Evaporator is in the heater box and will need the dash out to change it.

Hmm according to ETKA it's the "Temperature sensor evaporator".... do you think that ties in with this VAG-COM message:

Address 8 One fault found 00818 sensor for evaporater outlet temp (G263)

Other temperature sensor mentioned is the "Temperature sensor passenger compartment ventilation footwell vent" but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the evaporator

Each part costs in the region of 16 quid so I obviously don't want to get too badly stung for labour! I'm going to be remove the horrible beige bottom half of the dash anyway to replace it with my new grey bits - can I get to the evaporator from there if I need to?

Thanks, Chris

why not ask a dealer for a quote?
Then, when you pick yourself up from the floor, ask him to explain how he arrived at such a ridiculous figure.
