Default Warning Lights- R.T.A

Hi guys, i posted yesterday about a warning light that came on, but i did not explain my self to well.. Yesterday i was on the way to an interview, when i was hit from behind, The damage to the car is broken rear bumper, parking sensors, and whiplash!!!, But when i came to move off, the warning light was on. (engine electronic symbol).. I had it tested today and it turns out to be MAF sensor.. My question is, is this likely to happen or just coincindence????

coincidence i would say , although i've took a gearbox out of a car , this required the air filter box/MAF sensor removing to access the mounting , went out on road test after finishing the job and the vehicle broke down , i had disturbed some muck/dust in the air filter which had gone on the MAF element causing the breakdown , so anything is possible

I would claim for the MAF sensor along with the other damage if the engine was running OK immediately prior to the impact.

There is a hot wire somewhere though...

I thought the thing had a hot wire as it was prone to fatigue, due to the design of air passing both ways, maybe it was hot air passing over the wire...oh I don't know...but it's given me a stonking idea.
