Will 225/50's fit on Skoda 16" alloys

Irish model RS. Came with 205/55/16" tyres on 6.5" rims.
Tyres a bit crap and thinking of changing to 225/50's. Not sure if the rim is wide enough though.

However I went onto performance alloys.com which match the alloy and tyre size for your car. Selected the cheapest 6.5" alloys they had, and it says I can use 205/55/16's and 225/50/16's.

Anyone know, as thinking of ordering today.

thx

I run 225/50/16 on a 7" rim

Toyo reckon a 225/50/16 will fit rim widths 6.0-8.0 however.

225 will fit, but not sure whether you'll see any advantage (or possibly even a disadvantage) as the tyre will roll around on the rim too much.

I'd personally stick with a 205 on that rim width.
