Cheers Dave great drive, and thanks again to you and Mel for putting Mrs PP and myself up on Friday night,

hope you managed to get up and off ealy on Sunday

Saturday night camping, 9.30 PM and Mr. Gill is passed out early whilst Dave is lookiung doubtfull for his early start

No 9.45 PM and Dave as found another drink, all is well

Great weekend

Cheers Sharky for arranging it and a thoroughly enjoyable drive. Those who didn't camp really missed out, we were lucky with the weather and the view from the campsite was fantastic. Not to mention good BBQ food and the odd glass or two!

Which campsite did you stay on? It looks like Skiddaw in the background, so somewhere just north of Keswick I guess. But which one?

I normally end up in Keswick once a year, should of come up for the bank holiday weekend

Can't remember the name of the site but it was in Bassenthwaite. Fairly basic and even had the joy of 'smear test' toilet paper, much to the delight of the travelling population

After a bit of googling I'm guessing its the one near Coledale Beck, Braithwaite.

Theres one up in Castlerigg which is quite nice (again basic but with real toilet paper

), also its within stumbling distance of keswick, admittedly through some dark dark woods.

Yep there was some stunning scenery to be see. Something I forgot to put in my earlier post was that i drove home from the meet back down the A591 as I was in no rush. Was following an older gentleman in a vectra having a 'sunday' drive when a Range Rover Vogue caught us up. New shape I think. As an overtaking opportunity approached I kept an eye on the Range Rover to make sure that he wasn't going to overtake me at the same time as I overtook the Vectra. Suddenly he dropped back and a rather large plume of blue and white smoke appeared from the back of it. This was followed by hazard lights and he pulled off into the first layby. Made me chuckle a bit. Imagine he could have been stuck there a while, especially on a bank holiday weekend.

Sorry I couldnt make it but I made up for it with a trip to Pembroke, Cresswell Quay, Barafundle Bay, Saundersfoot.
Simply stunning beaches and weather.

just got back from my hols! had a great week sitting on the beach getting suntanned

thanks for all the positive comments, was a good "second Keswick" meet, I'll make sure I get another one in in Autumn time, when there will be less tourists around!

glad the camping went good! some cracking pictures there Gilly, and thanks for letting me have a play in your car too.....

can't wait for the next one I can attend!!

the one at Castlerigg has even better views! (well, the same ones, but closer!) however that was full

next bank holiday I'm gonna put some "Keswick is FULL" signs on the A66.... lol....
