| Bleeding Brakes - caution ! This months Car Mechanics (Feb) has a story on bleeding the brakes on the Octavia, and says that when you try to pump the pressure back up after changing the fluid, you find that you carn't, as a seal gets damaged in the master cylinder ! You have to buy a new master cylinder as there is probably a burr inside which damages the seals when the piston goes its full travel inside. ![]() |

| Re: Bleeding Brakes - caution ! Not come accross it on Octavias myself but then I use a pressure bleeding system at work. Used to happen loads on Vauxhalls years ago though after pushing the pistons back in the caliper. |

| Re: Bleeding Brakes - caution ! folds the seal over doesn't it?i have heard bill of badger 5 and ross talking about it iirc,very dubious of doing mine myself now,rather pay a few quid to get the dealer to do it,let them sweat over it.
